William Griffith Rogers "Rog", a cherished husband, loving father, trusted brother and
friend, and a dedicated public servant to all, passed away peacefully at his home in
Bartonville, Texas on January 17, 2024. He was surrounded by his wife, sons,
"daughters," grandchildren, and one of his best friends.

Born on July 12th, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan to William Edward and Eulalla Louise
(Griffith) Rogers, Rog was a gregarious child with the ability to befriend all. He
graduated from North Farmington High School in 1974 where he was an active
member of the high school band and choir, which began his deep rooted passion for
the musical arts. He met the love of his life, Theresa Maria Rizza, and married his
bride on October 14, 1978. They have 3 boys William Ross, Kenneth Daniel, and Eric
Anthony and was blessed that he was able to witness them fall in love and marry their
wives, Heather, Ashley, and Kristin. His deep love continued when his grandchildren
(William Michael and Brooklyn Grace) were born. As a father figure to many, we
cannot leave out his exchange student son, from Thailand, Pianwit Kitaya-apinan.
Throughout his career, Rog worked as an EMT/ Paramedic at Huron Valley
Ambulance, a firefighter at Ypsilanti Township, and at UTSW Medical school as a
Paramedic instructor. He was valedictorian of his police academy and held ranks of
Deputy, Corporal, Sargent, Lieutenant, and Vice Commander of Narcotics Task Force
with the Denton County Constables / Sheriff's Office, and Collin College. He fulfilled
one of his greatest accomplishments from 2005-2006 when he worked for the
Department of Justice in Baghdad and Taji, Iraq as an international police advisor and
Director of International Police Training. He was awarded a medal of bravery for his
life saving actions.

During his 50 years of public service, Rog supported his sons and community in many
other ways. He was involved in Boy Scouts, JROTC, school band, and all sorts of little
league sports. He held elected positions in Collin, Denton, and Kaufman counties and
served in many organizations including The Civil Air Patrol, Denton Emmaus
Community, local church, community choirs, and theatre groups, as well as a Post
Critical Incident Responder. He was a Master Mason with The Masonic Lodge.
He leaves behind his devoted wife Theresa, sons Ross, Kenny, Eric, "daughters"
Heather, Ashley, Kristin, grandchildren Mikey, Brooklyn, sister Leslie and husband
Rick, "brother" Paul and wife Kathy, nieces and nephews Catherine, Jamie, Liz, Katie,
and Ben, numerous cousins, and last but not least treasured friends who are more
like family Ken Massey, Greg Leveling, Jim Hubanks, his Iraqi language translator
Aida Al Sahrawi, and so many more.

Rog will have 2 viewings available to the public to be held at
Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home

Friday January 26th, 2024 5:00-8:00 pm CST with a Masonic Service to be held at 7:30 pm CST.

His Funeral service will be held on Saturday Jan 27, 2:00 pm CST at
