William Herschel Kimbrough, a deeply respected man of honor, loyalty, and unwavering integrity, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025, at the age of 88, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on January 5, 1937, in Bowie, Texas, where he later graduated and began his legacy.

Herschel married Sarah, the love of his life, in 1956, and together they raised two daughters creating the most beautiful love story one could imagine. He contributed 35 years of hard work to Texas Instruments and with his heart of service, served his community through the Texas State Guard. Herschel was a part of the "Legends from the 50s," which still to this day, leads with the most consecutive state championships in high school basketball. When Herschel wasn't working or spending time with his family, you could find him displaying his love for sports on the field or the sidelines. He refereed and called games for many leagues around, as well as committed to playing softball for 15 years as a member of First Baptist Church of Lewisville leaving an impact on his community.

Throughout his life, Herschel was known for always doing the right thing, no matter the cost. He lived by principles of honesty and fairness, which earned him the admiration of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His word was as solid as stone, and his devotion to his family, friends, and the community was unmatched.

A true pillar of strength, Herschel believed in leading by example. Whether in his personal or professional life, he stood for justice, compassion, and respect. His legacy of kindness and steadfast commitment to ethical values will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.

Herschel is survived by his daughters, Kathy Sims and Kelly Curtis, grandchildren Ashley Bright, Tadd Byrum, and Kaley Gilbert, and greatgrandchildren Rylie, Blakely, Braylie, Hartli, Blayze, and Knoxli Bright, who will forever cherish the memory of a man who showed them the meaning of love, dedication, and honor. He was preceded in death by his parents, William C. Kimbrough and Agnes H. Kimbrough, his sister Beth Kimbrough, and his beloved wife Sarah Kimbrough. His impact on the community and the hearts of those who knew him will never fade.

A service in his honor will be held on February 24, 2025, at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville, Texas, with visitation beginning at 1 pm and the funeral service promptly at 2 pm, where friends and family will gather to celebrate his remarkable life.
