William Edward "Bill" Bradford, of Lewisville, Texas, died May 25, 2024, at the age of 96. He was born a fifth-generation native of Denton County in the Waketon-Chinn's Chapel community on December 26, 1927, to James Frank and Lona Virginia Porter Bradford. His childhood in the Chinn's Chapel community instilled a lifelong love for being active outdoors and for serving others.

Bill and his wife, Clair Terry Bradford, met at church in Denton, Texas. They were married June 10, 1956, and enjoyed 67 wonderful years together, living most of those years within two miles of his homeplace in Flower Mound, where Bradford Park is now located.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers James Cullen Bradford, Gene Porter Bradford, and Roy Addison Bradford, his cousin Curtis Bradford, and his sons-in-law Kent Croyl and Judd Sanderson.

He leaves behind his wife, Clair, children Terrilynne Mullen (Bob), Karen Bradford, and Jennifer Sanderson, grandchildren Sarah Hamilton (Shane), Anna Mullen, Amber Croyl, Kirsten Sultemeier (Jaron), Melissa Del Puerto (David), Deborah Johnson (Chris), Dylan Sanderson, and Slade Sanderson, and great-grandson Jackson Del Puerto. Extended family includes his cousin, Suan Fagan, and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Bill graduated from the North Texas Demonstration High School in Denton, became an Engineering Draftsman at Fritz W. Glitsch in Dallas, and took college classes at night in engineering. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea during 1946 and 1947. Bill worked at Victor Equipment Company in Denton from 1966 until his retirement in 1998. He took care of the records for Chinn's Chapel Cemetery, was family history editor of "Sweet Flower Mound Land", and has had stories and drawings published in several other publications. Bill enjoyed researching and recording family history as well as creating over 95 oil paintings and sketching historical buildings and homes.

The funeral will be held at Lewisville Church of Christ on June 8 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. before the service. All friends and family are welcome. Interment will be at a later date at Chinn's Chapel Cemetery. The family asks that donations be made to the Chinn's Chapel Cemetery Association in care of Betty Leatherwood, Treasurer, 1188 Hickory Creek Road, Denton, TX 76210.
