Wilford Dean Walker, age 92, was born at "Salt Branch" which was part of Little Elm, Texas on January 20, 1932 and passed away November 9, 2024 in Lewisville, Texas.  His parents were Garret and Leaton Walker.  He was the baby of the family with Donnie, Earl, and Lee as siblings.

Wilford served in the United States Air Force as munitions specialist receiving an Honorable Discharge on September 30. 1960.

Wilford was employed as Purchasing and Inventory Control Manager at Kroehler Manufacturing Company in Dallas, Texas from 1956-1981.

Wilford served The United States Postal Service for 18 years and retired January 3, 1997 working as window clerk.  His last service was at the Jackson Road Post Office in Carrollton, Texas.

He graduated from Frisco High School, Frisco, Texas 1949.

Wilford acquired a Texas Real Estate License, but never practiced.

He was very mechanically inclined and enjoyed woodworking in his shop.  He was very clever and made several inventions.  He could always come up with a solution when one was needed.  Wilford enjoyed the outdoors fishing and hunting.  He kept his family farm in Pilot Point, Texas. He also acquired his own farm located in Telephone, Texas.  Owning land was important to him.

He worshiped at Main Street Church of Christ for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Day Walker, married 65 years.

His daughter, Valerie Walker Ralston and Son-in-Law John Ralston.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November, 14, 2024, at Forest Grove Cemetery in Telephone, Texas.
