Vietta Richardson, age 80 passed away on August 28, 2023. She left this earth, peacefully in her home with her family and friends by her side. She was born on September 19, 1942 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Eugene and Lavonne Young. She grew up with a large family (10 siblings, 4 brothers and 6 sisters). She attended school in Fort Smith.

She later met the love of her life, Dewey Richardson. She married Dewey Richardson on December 30, 1960 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They were married 61 years before Dewey passed in October of 2021. They had 5 children (2 sons and 3 daughters), 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Vietta was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a great friend. Vietta enjoyed making weekend trips to Fort Smith, Arkansas to visit her sister, Marry Harris and her brother, Bud Young, her nephew and niece Waymon and Rita Harris. She loved to go shopping and going to garage sales. Her most enjoyable times were going to Winstar with Dewey and her son Kenney and watching the Dallas Cowboys. Her most prized possessions that no one could take away was her family.

Vietta was preceded in death by her husband - Dewey Richardson, Daughter - Crystal Gale Richardson, Grandson - Zachary Lynn Richardson, her parents - Eugene and Lavonne Young, 5 sisters - Marry Harris, Betty Fain, Nancy Neal, Beatrice King, and Jackie McGrew, 2 brothers - Foster Young and Ralph Young.

Vietta is survived by 2 sons - Kenney Dale Richardson of Lewisville, TX and Dennis Ray Richardson and wife, Marla Richardson of Waurika, OK, 2 daughters - Laurie Ann Richardson and husband, Jerry Lee Mitchell of Sanger, TX - Paula Kay Garcia and husband, Juan Garcia of Sanger, TX, 1 son-in-law John Michael Perry and wife, Stephanie Perry, 18 grandchildren (Kendrick, Dennison, Kylie, Michael, Matthew, Mason, Dewey,  Gabriela, Frankie, Joe, Angelica, Zachary, Brittany, Thomas, JD, Lindsey, Colton and Kaylee) and 27 great-grandchildren, 1 sister - Loretta Luna of Waurika, OK, 2 brothers - Bud Young and Gene Young of Fort Smith, AR, 1 brother-in-law - Claudie Richardson of Wichita Falls, TX and 1 sister-in-law - Margaret Richardson of Waurika, OK.
