Troy T. Arthur, 84, of Garland, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2023, surrounded by his kids, brother, and sister.

Troy was born in Minden, Louisiana to the late Truman and Bonnie Arthur. Troy or "Papa" as he was lovingly called by his grandkids, grew up in Athens, Texas where he attended school and graduated from Athens High School.  He was the Student Body President and quarterback of the football team.  "Chief" as he was known by at Texas Instruments, worked there 38 years before retiring in 1997.

Troy enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and entertaining people with his crazy antics and colorful jokes. Troy was preceded in death by his sweet and loving wife of 36 years, Cindy, his parents, his sister Joan Arthur, brothers Mike Arthur and Ricky Arthur.

He is survived by his children, sons Tim Arthur and wife Cindy, Rob Arthur and wife Karen, Kevin Arthur and wife Rachael, daughter Mindy Hix and husband Jeremy, brother Tommy Arthur and wife Maje, and sister Pam Arthur Summerall, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Monday, June 26, 2023, 10:00 am, at Swisher Cemetery in Lake Dallas, Texas.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
