Thomas Gerard Gallant

Thomas Gerard Gallant, 65, of Flower Mound, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 16, 1961, in Hicksville, New York, to Francis John Gallant and Maureen Elizabeth Gallant.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Shelley Gallant, and his son, Reed Gallant. Thomas was one of nine siblings and is also survived by Peter, Mary Beth, Joe, Tim, Peggy, Patty, and a multitude of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Mike and Francis.

Tommy's whole life can be defined by what he did when no one was looking and the sacrifices he made for the people around him. His faith in the Lord guided him every day, and anyone could see that he had a love for people that was quiet and selfless. He would drop anything to help another person in need. His countless deeds of generosity touched many lives and left an impact that will last for many years to come.

Anyone who knew Tommy knew his dry humor, his sharp New York accent, and his love for baseball and hot dogs. He loved to watch his son play baseball all the way up to college, and he never missed a Rangers game when it was on. No matter the moment, Tommy always had a joke ready to lighten the mood, even when he was the only one cracking himself up.

His career as a restaurateur was highlighted by being an original partner at Outback Steakhouse, opening his first bar, the Bronx Zoo, in Fort Worth, and ending his career at the NYPD Deli in Euless. Through all of these places, he formed lifelong friendships with so many wonderful people. As much as the food he prepared was delicious and loved by many, it was always connecting with people that he cherished the most.

Tommy will be greatly missed by everyone who loved him, but his legacy will live on through his family, friends, and his dog, Rudi. There is no doubt that he is smiling down on everyone from heaven.

A Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 25, 2026, at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 5201 Cross Timbers Rd, Flower Mound, TX 75022.
