Susan Elizabeth Myatt, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on April 12, 2025, at home with family by her side. Born on January 7, 1942, to Arthur Hugh Barclay and Grace Janet Barclay in Bay City, Michigan, Susan shared her love over music to all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Hugh and Janet Barclay, her brother Don Barclay, and her stepson Paul Myatt. She is survived by her husband, Edward Layland Myatt, and their children, Beau Myatt, Laura Marcus, Matt Gardner, Martha Gaines, Katy Connelly and 16 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Susan was a gifted musician. She was a Professional Pianist and Organist and was a skilled percussionist.  She built a career at Texas Women University, where she touched the hearts of many people with her artistry and generously shared her love for music with her family, friends, and community.

Susan was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her unwavering faith and love for Jesus Christ was significant part of her life. She dedicated her time to serving others as her wards organist and pianist and devoted much of her time serving in the Dallas template where she spent time on genealogy.

Susan married Edward Layland Myatt in the Arizona temple in 1978. Together, they built a life in Denton, TX, where they raised their family with love and laughter.

Susan was a loyal friend and fiercely supported them. She rarely met a stranger and spread joy and smiles with her sporadic singing and dancing.  Susan was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Let us celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. We are grateful for the love she shared and the cherished memories we hold dear.
