Sue Laoboonmi

Mrs. Sue Laoboonmi, 83, of Pocatello, Idaho went to be with her Lord peacefully surrounded by her family on September 1, 2026, after a brave fight against lung cancer. Sue and her husband Sam called Pocatello, Idaho home for over 50 years where they raised a family and were active in the community. She loved gardening, walking around the neighborhood, and sharing her flowers and vegetables with her friends. She was also an active member of Pocatello Baptist Church.

Sue was born in Bangkok, Thailand on May 22, 1943, and had two brothers and four sisters. She attended Bangkok Adventist Hospital School of Nursing in Bangkok, Thailand (now called Asia Pacific International University, Faculty of Nursing). She graduated in 1967 with a Diploma of Nursing, Public Health and Midwifery. Sue came to the United States in 1970 where she met Sam. In 1975, she and Sam moved from California to Pocatello where they raised their family. She first worked at Bannock Regional Hospital and then Bucyrus Eerie (BE), and at Idaho National Engineering Laboratory before she and Sam established themselves as successful small business owners of Computer Hut and Sam’s Gun Shop. She enjoyed serving the local community and interacting with customers.

Sue is survived by her husband of 54 years Sam, a daughter Cindy Atkins (Dennis) of Falls Church, VA, a daughter Polly Laoboonmi (Ryan) of Lewisville, TX, two granddaughters, sisters, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Pocatello Baptist Church (190 W Chapel Rd, Pocatello, ID 83201) on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 3pm.
