Steven Michael Schott was received into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, April 18, 2026, while surrounded by his loving family in Lewisville, TX.  He was 78 years of age.

Steve was born in Sioux City Iowa on June 19,1947 to William & Laura Schott who both preceded him in death.  He was the oldest of 7 children and he was truly loved by his brothers and sisters: Mary and husband Bryan Knowles, Billy Schott, Kathy and husband Kent Ewing, Robert and wife Lark Schott, Jody and husband Shawn Marcell, and Jimmy Schott.  He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Knowles, and 2 of his brothers Jimmy Schott and Billy Schott, his niece Stormie Schott, and his nephew Chad Schott.  He was raised in Sioux City, IA.

At the age of 19, Steve joined the Army and was stationed at Forts Riley and Lewis and Germany.  After separating from the Army in 1969, he moved to Texas to join his family.  He met and married his beautiful wife Claudia Milhouse on February 4, 1973, in Dallas, TX at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church.  They were happily married for 53 amazing years!  Steve and Claudia loved to travel, and they were fortunate to take many phenomenal trips over the years. Steve was a devoted husband to his beautiful bride.

Steve & Claudia settled in Lewisville, TX where they built a beautiful life together.  Steve spent his whole adult life working in the family business, AA Rental, which he eventually owned and built into an amazing business of his own.  Steve was a proud small business owner who loved the rental business, but even more he loved the people it brought into his life. He retired in December of 2023.

Steve and Claudia raised 2 children Cassie & Bart whom he adored.  Steve was a very proud Dad who loved being involved in his kids lives.  He was the absolute best dad in the world to Cassie & Bart.  Steve was so proud of his son-in-law Jeff Payne and daughter-in-law Jody Schott, and he thought of them as his own.

Steve's true love was being a grandpa!  He has 7 grandchildren who he loved unconditionally and with his whole heart.  Tyler, Ella, Madison, Sydney, Cole, Chase, and Morgan are his true legacy, and they were his pride and joy!

Steve was loved and respected by so many nieces and nephews who saw him as a 2nd father.  He loved being a role model for them and he was very proud of each one of them too.

Steve was a strong Christian man who touched many over the years with his involvement at First United Methodist Church, FLUMY, The Explorers High Adventure Group, Teaching Financial Peace University, volunteering across his community, and helping others in need constantly.  Steve was a deeply faithful man who was so kind and generous beyond measure.

Celebration of Life: 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 11, at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home 740 S. Edmonds Ln. Lewisville, TX.  Private service for immediate family only: 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 11, at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
