Stephen Joseph Short, 66, of Flower Mound, Texas passed away on November 3, 2024, after a long battle with frontotemporal dementia. Steve was born in Keokuk, Iowa to William and Marlene Short on November 27, 1957. After graduating from Western Illinois University, Steve married Connie Routh on January 2, 1982, in Keokuk, Iowa. He worked for 39 years in the apparel industry and spent the last 14 years running his own company, Designer Apparel Group. There he used his expertise in the industry to grow a successful and respected business until he retired in 2023.

Steve is survived by his mother, Marlene Short; his wife of 43 years, Connie; daughters Stevie Short and Kelly Dears (Cameron) and son Joe Short (Cassie); sisters Mary Dennis (Jim) and Ann Vandenberg (Brian); brothers Bill Short (Elisabeth), Jim Short (Lori); five grandchildren Brody, Kai, Royce, Roman and Josie; sisters-in-law Diane Moore (Bob) and Margitta Routh; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. His greatest joy was to be able to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed any opportunity to travel and visit family.

A funeral service will be held at All Saints Catholic Church, 310 S. 9th Street, Keokuk, Iowa on Saturday, December 28 at 10:30 am. A reception will follow the service at the Keokuk Yacht Club, 2029 River Rd, Keokuk, Iowa.

There will be also a service to celebrate Steve's life at Faith Lutheran Church, 6000 Morriss Road, Flower Mound, Texas on Saturday, January 4 at 1:00 pm.
