Stephen Edward Merritt, 72, of Lewisville,TX, passed away peacefully on December 15,
2024, in Lewisville, TX. Stephen was born on April 19, 1952, in Utica, NY, to Harold and
Margaret Merritt. He married the love of his life, Cindy Merritt, on May 1, 1971, in New
Hartford, NY. Stephen graduated from Utica Free Academy and dedicated 35+ years of his life as
a short-haul tractor-trailer driver.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Margaret Merritt, and his brother,
Donald Merritt.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Cindy Merritt; his children, Scott Merritt (and his wife,
Heidi), Julie Perec (and her partner, Dave Benner), Connie Merritt, and Mark Merritt (and his
wife, Natalie); his brother, Ronny Merritt (and his wife, Mary); and his sister, Judy Garguilo.
Stephen also leaves behind cherished grandchildren Scott Merritt Jr., Amber Merritt, Emily
Merritt, and Christopher Perec, as well as his great-grandchild, Haylie Perec. He will also be
fondly remembered by Cassie Galyas, Dana Kelly, and a host of extended family and friends.

The family of Stephen Edward Merritt would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Concho
