In Loving Memory of Stephen Arthur Holland

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Steve Holland on May 5, 2025, surrounded by loving family.

Stephen Arthur Holland was born in Stamford, Texas on September 11, 1949 to Billy Dean and Thelma Jean Holland. After living in Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma, Steve spent most of his growing years in Seminole, Texas and graduated from Seminole High School in 1967. Steve attended West Texas State University in Canyon (Now WTAMU) and graduated in 1972 with a Bachelors of Business Administration. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and served in leadership positions while there. Steve married his college sweetheart, Marlene Schneiderman, after a whirlwind courtship on May 13, 1972, in Amarillo, Texas.

Shortly after their marriage Steve and Marlene moved to Dallas to begin their careers. Steve went to work for Briggs-Weaver, an industrial distribution company, saw promotions and transfers to Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Little Rock. In 1982, Steve joined Mack-Pak, a packaging supplies and equipment company, in Dallas. In 1989, he moved the family to Kingwood to manage the Houston location of the company. Mack-Pak sold to Unisource in 1993 and Steve moved the family back to Dallas to manage the packaging operations for the new owner. In 2003, Steve went to work for Pro Mach, a packaging equipment manufacturer, rising to the level of Vice-President before retiring in 2016.

Steve enjoyed traveling for work, with his family, and on mission trips. His many destinations included Canada, Mexico, Ireland, Scotland, England, India, Peru and Japan.

In retirement, Steve's hobbies included reading, sailing, golf and gardening. He also invested a lot of time in his church homes in both leadership positions and as a Sunday School teacher. He served for 15 years on the board of directors of a non-profit organization, Evergreen Life Services, which provides services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in seven states.

Steve was a gentle and generous man; a cherished husband, father, grandfather and brother - his family was the light of his life. Steve will be greatly missed by so many, but through the life he lived, he leaves a legacy of love, friendship, faith and kindness.

Steve is survived by Marlene, his wife of 53 years, and his daughter, Casey Johnston and spouse, Todd, daughter Becky and daughter Jennifer Hoffman and spouse, Dan. He has three grandsons: Zachary Johnston, Samuel Johnston and Logan Hoffman. He is survived his sister, Donna, but predeceased by his parents and older brother, Floyd.

A memorial service in celebration of Steve's life will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Trietsch Memorial United Methodist church in Flower Mound, Texas.
