Stephen William Gay, 67, of Highland Village, passed away February 15, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.  Steve was born January 28, 1958, in Amarillo, Texas to Claud Edward (Ben) Gay and Carmelita Maria (Trigger) Gay.  Steve married his high school sweetheart, Cathy Susanne Covey in May 1976.

Steve joined the United States Air Force after graduating from High School and married Susanne shortly after that.  They spent their first year of marriage stationed in Italy and the next year in St. Louis at Scott Air Force base.  After his discharge, they moved back to Amarillo where Steve graduated from West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas.  After moving to Flower Mound, Texas, Steve worked as a systems analyst for several large companies including Diamond Shamrock, Perot Systems, PepsiCo, BSI, and finally retiring from HCL in Dallas in 2018.

Steve loved HAM Radio, Computer technology and fishing.  He also loved to travel.  Steve was a problem solver, information gatherer and planner.  He might have enjoyed planning a trip almost as much as the actual trip, and he was never without a project or two around the house. He could repair anything and always made sure it was repaired correctly.

Steve and Susanne enjoyed many life adventures.  He greatly enjoyed traveling with Susanne and their friends, Gary and Kathy Riley.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother and father.  Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Susanne; sister, Diane Davis; nephew, Craig Riley; nieces, Andrea Diebel and Jennifer Pickler; almost family, Gary and Kathy Riley; and numerous friends and former coworkers.  At his request, no services will be held.  He will be buried in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Denton.  Susanne asks that memorial donations, if desired, be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Shriner's Hospital for Children or an animal rescue group of your choice in Steve's memory.
