Shirley Jean Vess, age 95, of Highland Village, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024, while surrounded by her loving family.  Shirley was born in Springfield, Illinois on September 25, 1928, to Frank Hurst and Grace Kenoweth Hurst.

Shirley loved to travel and loved every dog she met.  She also loved making quilts and sewing.  She loved her family deeply and cherished every one of them.

When you saw Shirley, she was always in her Cadillac with her hair and nails done and wearing her sunglasses.  She was an amazing cook and always sassy.  She left quite a legacy for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Vess and her daughter, Linda Fomby.  Shirley is survived by her children; Keith Price and Daughter-in-law, Juanita Trevino and Jay Price; stepsons, Dewayne and Ronny Vess and stepdaughter, Cathy Vess.  Grandchildren; Samantha and Cameron Price, Kenny Fomby and Clayton Compton. Great Grandchildren; Adyson Fomby, Lily Murillo, Farah and Colman Compton and Charliegh and Ryland Bradley.

A memorial service to celebrate Shirley's life will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home with Reverend Kenneth Wells officiating.  Shirley will be laid to rest in the Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville.
