The Heavens have received an amazing woman of God this week.  Sherian Kay Emigh went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 22, 2024.

Sherian was born in Garden City Kansas to parents Woodrow and Leah Peters.  Her family included her siblings Doug, Connie, Jerry, and Bob.

She attended Kansas State University with the love of her life, John Leigh Emigh.  They were married in 1965 just before Leigh received his commission as an officer in the US Air Force.

They soon left Kansas and were assigned to 19 different duty stations in 29 years of service.  They accomplished their goal of "seeing the world" by living in Europe several times with the Air Force and traveling to multiple destinations upon retirement, including a pilgrimage to Israel.

Sherian devoted her life to God and her family.  She served in multiple roles of ministry that included mission work, leading bible studies and teaching children.  During the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, she mucked out houses in New Orleans and ministered to the victims.

Her professional life centered around education.  She worked as a teacher to young children wherever they were stationed in the world.

Sherian authored a book in 2015 titled "Growth of Faith Through Angels" where she is referred to as a "Walking, talking Miracle".  She survived 5 bouts with cancer and used each experience to glorify God.

Sherian and Leigh have 4 children, Bret Emigh, Mendee Cotton, Leanne White and David Emigh.  They have 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She and her husband Leigh would have been married 59 years in July.
