Scotty Mac Stubblefield
2 March 1939 - 3 May 2024

Scott passed away peacefully at his home in Lewisville, TX. on 3 May 2024.

He was born in Weston, Texas to Haskell & Juanita Stubblefield.   The family lived in Dallas, TX. and moved to Lewisville, TX. when Scott began 6th grade.  He graduated from Lewisville High School in 1957, and served in the U.S. Army 1960-1962, stationed in Germany.   Upon his return to the States he worked for John Deere Co. Sales Branch, Dallas, TX, working in several departments within the Branch.  He was a Warehouse Supervisor at the time of his retirement in July 1991 and continued doing part time work for John Deere verifying dealer inventory for a short time.

Scott enjoyed woodworking and began making and selling birdhouses from old fence wood. Many of his John Deere friends purchased his wooden stools he made for little children, complete with their names across the top of stool. He built them with love. Scott loved his lawn...he would fuss over it as if it was a baby!  He continued to try mowing until his strength gave out on him and he had to have help..BUT he would sit on the front porch and "Supervise"!  He found great joy sitting on the front porch.  Neighborhood buddies/friends would drive by the house, see him sitting out there, would stop and come sit with him for a bit, solving all the problems of the world.  He enjoyed every single one of these visits.  Neighbors laughed and referred to him as "Neighborhood Watch" whether he was sitting out on front porch, or inside the house in the front room.
Scott loved that his high school classmates remained close through the years.  He served as Senior Class President which he believed would be for his senior year only, but it didn't work out that way.   He was informed it was a "Lifetime" position which meant that every reunion or gathering they had, he had to be on the planning committee, PLUS he had to make a speech!! He grumbled but did love all the gatherings...his classmates are a special group of people.

Scott is survived by his wife, Virginia (gini); a son, Robert; a daughter, Amy; sister-in-law, Becky Burris Petrie(Keith); 4 grandchildren; cousins; numerous nieces and nephews in Texas, Illinois, Florida & California.

There will be no service, visitation only to be held at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home, 740 S. Edmonds Ln., Lewisville, TX. Wednesday, May 8, 2024, 6:00 - 8:00 pm.
