Sandra "Sandy" Ann Lycett, 71, passed away on March 8, 2025, holding her daughter's hand, after a long illness. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend whose kindness touched all who knew her.

Born in Washington, Pennsylvania, to the late Joseph and Delilah Sanner Brodak, Sandy was a graduate of Trinity High School. In the late spring of 1979, she married William Lycett, in Amity, Pennsylvania. Together, they built a devoted marriage that spanned 46 years. Already a loving "second mom" to William's daughter, Kristina, Sandy later welcomed their daughter, Billi, choosing her name as a tribute to her husband's legacy.

In 1987, the family relocated to Muncie, Indiana, where Sandy spent nearly three decades creating a home filled with love, laughter, and warmth. Over the years, she worked at Ball Corporation, Gaston Elementary, and AWS Assisted Living, forming deep and lasting friendships wherever she went. She also fulfilled a lifelong dream by starting her own business, boarding and caring for horses on their 10-acre property—a place she transformed into a haven of beauty and life.

Sandy's love for nature was evident in everything she touched. Upon arriving in Indiana, she immediately got to work planting trees, flowers, and gardens. Her generous spirit extended to all creatures, both human and animal, and her "little farm" became a refuge for many souls.

To know Sandy was to be embraced by warmth and comfort. With a bubbly, effervescent personality, she had a way of making everyone feel special, greeting them with an affectionate "sweetheart" or "honey." Her laughter and sense of humor radiated positivity, and her home was always open to friends and family, where she welcomed them with love, kindness, and home-cooked meals made from the heart. Some of her family's favorites included homemade pierogis and noodles, gnocchi, cabbage rolls, nut rolls, cheesy potatoes, and chicken enchiladas.

Sandy was selfless and deeply devoted to those she loved. When physically able, she rarely missed a recital, game, or event for her children and grandchildren, always showing up with unwavering support. Her kindness extended beyond her family, as she regularly cared for other children, the elderly, and anyone in need, offering her time, wisdom, and comforting words. She had a remarkable gift for knowing just what to say in troubling times, and her guidance will be profoundly missed.

She is survived by her loving husband, William Lycett of Muncie, Indiana; daughter Kristina Rogers of Muncie; daughter Billi (Malachi) Lycett Waples of Flower Mound, Texas; aunt Valeria (Carol) Sanner of Martinsburg, West Virginia; cousin Cindy (Doug) Tipton of Waxahachie, Texas, and cherished grandchildren Cameron, Makayla, and Avery. She also leaves behind nieces, a nephew, cousins and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and sisters Jo Ellen Solties and Patricia Brodak.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the caretakers at Liberty Care Homes on Frankie Lane in Lewisville, Texas, and Arcy Hospice in Flower Mound, Texas, for the love and support they provided to Sandy.

A private ceremony will be held for family. A Celebration of Life to be planned at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Children's Advocacy Center for North Texas.
