Russell Edward Scribner, beloved brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on December 20, 2024, at the age of 71. Born on March 4, 1953, in Dallas, Texas, he was the son of the late Warren Edward and Mary Jo Scribner.

Russell graduated from Lewisville Texas High School and went on to earn an associate's degree from DeVry Institute of Technology. He worked for Texas Instruments for many years and then Kroger, from which he retired.

Russell attended the First Baptist Church of Lewisville, Texas and attended Bible studies when he was able. Throughout his life, he was passionate about military history and science. He also enjoyed board games, especially trivia.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers who supported him through his later years, as well as to the members of his church and the Koinonia Sunday School Class, who visited and offered their continued support and fellowship.

Russell is survived by his sisters, Debra Scribner Brandes and her husband Tom, and Lisa Scribner Stephens and her husband Rick. He is also survived by his niece, Elizabeth Brandes, and nephew, Andrew Brandes.

His family and friends will remember him for his kind heart. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2024 at the First Baptist Church of Lewisville, Texas, 1251 Valley Ridge Blvd. Lewisville, TX 75077. Reverand Stephen G. Hatfield will officiate. A fellowship meal will be held prior to the service at 11:30 a.m. followed by the service at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Lewisville or a charity of choice.
