Rudy Trevino, 83, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, with his family by his side. He will be remembered for his deep love of family, his pride in serving his country, and the quiet strength and joy he brought to those who knew him.

Rudy was born on September 6, 1942, in Dallas, Texas, to Albert Trevino, Sr. and Candelaria Hernandez. He was the youngest of nine children and was raised in humble beginnings in Dallas's first barrio, known as "Little Mexico."

As a young man, Rudy answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army in 1959. He proudly served with the 2nd Armored Division, Company C, at Fort Hood, Texas, and was later deployed to Darmstadt, Germany, in 1960 during the Vietnam War era. Rudy remained deeply proud of his military service and his country throughout his life.

After returning home, Rudy worked a variety of jobs, including in the warehouse at Cullum Company, before eventually pursuing his entrepreneurial interest. He became a restaurateur and owner at Trevino's Mexican Restaurant in Waco, Texas, where he spent more than 25 years in the restaurant business, sharing his culture and hospitality with the community.

Rudy was known for his quiet spirit, impeccable style, and joyful love of music and dance. An amazing dancer, he especially loved dancing to classic Mexican music and the Motown hits of the 1950s.

Above all else, Rudy was a devoted father and grandfather. His greatest pride was his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed attending their games and activities, always cheering them on with love and encouragement.

He was preceded in death by his parents Albert Trevino, Sr. and Candelaria Hernandez; his brother Albert Trevino, Jr.; and his sisters Enriquetia Alardin, Margaret Dimas, Josephine Rivera, and Sylvia Cazares.

Rudy is survived by his brothers Martin Trevino and Claudio Trevino; and sister, Estella Torres; sons, Jerry Trevino and wife Kellie, and Rudy Trevino, Jr. and wife Anne; his daughters, Marisa Marshall and husband Mike, and Rene Hernandez and husband Frank; his grandchildren, Macy Hernandez, Pierre Trevino, Alex Trevino, Sebastian Trevino, Christian Trevino, Ayden Lewis, Caleb Marshall, Antonio Trevino, and Alessia Trevino.

A service honoring Rudy will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 740 Edmonds Lane, in Lewisville. Following the service, there will be a procession to the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, in Dallas. Interment with military honors will start at 3:00 p.m.
