Former Lewisville Mayor Rudy Durham died of natural causes on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at the age of 67. Rudy is survived by his parents, Marshall and Sue Ann Durham; his siblings, Marshan Durham Naragon, Rody Durham (and wife, Dixie) and Rory Durham (and wife, Debbie); Tara Harris (and children) and Tricia Kelley (husband, Adrian, and children); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born March 15, 1956, Rudy was a lifelong Lewisville resident, graduating from Lewisville High School in 1974. He was a multi-sport student-athlete and was inducted into the LHS Hall of Fame in 2017. He was also a servant of the City of Lewisville for the better part of three decades; first as a member of the Lewisville City Council (1994-2015) and then as Mayor (2015-2021).

Prior to his civil service, Rudy attended North Texas State University (now University of North Texas), where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in real estate. He went on to work for the Denton Central Appraisal District and retired as the Chief Appraiser in 2019.

The family will host a visitation on Friday, Aug. 4, from 6-8 p.m. at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home (740 S. Edmonds Lane in Lewisville), followed by a funeral on Saturday, Aug. 5 at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church (907 W. Main Street in Lewisville).
