Roy Missner left this earth on January 7th with his faithful and beloved wife Jan at his side.  After a long illness, Roy walked, or maybe ran, into God's arms just a couple of weeks before his 88th birthday.  He was born January 24th, 1937 to Sidney and Faye Missner of Forest Park, Illinois.  Roy was a caring and loving husband and father of five children including sons Adam, Tim and Johnathan, and daughters Alexis and Megan, as well as a devoted brother to his sister, Jane.  His family also includes daughters-in-law Sheri, Tamra and Danielle, sons-in-law Kit and Yanal, stepdaughter Donna and 16 grandchildren.

Roy graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in History, and worked with his family's business, Medline.  After fighting the cold weather in the north for much of his life, Roy settled in Atlanta, Georgia where he met Jan in 2000.  They enjoyed a rich life in Dunwoody, Georgia for many years, and moved to Highland Village, Texas in 2019.

Roy was a man of many words and stories, some factual and others not-so-much, but always entertaining.  His joy and intelligence were reflected in his love for baseball, football, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.  Roy was always on top of current events, loved the Wall Street Journal and Fox News, and was known for sending news articles to family and friends.  His passion, humor and wisdom had a big impact on everyone around him, and he will be greatly missed by his loving family.

We will celebrate Roy's life at Flower Mound United Methodist church (3950 Bruton Orand Blvd), with a service at 1pm followed by a reception on his birthdate, January 24th.
