Roger Harold Smith, 80, of Flower Mound, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025 surrounded by his wife and children.

Roger was born on St. Patrick's Day in St. Louis, Missouri, and was raised in Kirkwood, Missouri. For the past 41 years, he made his home in Flower Mound, Texas, with his beloved wife, Corinne, by his side. Roger and Corinne were married for 46 years, sharing a deep love and devotion to each other, and he never missed an opportunity to remind his family how much he loved them.

A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Roger carried his service with honor throughout his life. He later worked for Southwestern Bell for 30 years before retiring at the age of 55.

Roger had a gift for working with his hands and took pride in building and creating—most notably a deck and an addition to the family home. He found joy in spending time outdoors, whether tending to his yard, fishing, or boating. He also had a passion for cars and loved maintaining them.

An avid movie lover, Roger enjoyed a wide range of films, from war movies and westerns to romantic comedies. His favorite, Dances With Wolves, captured his appreciation for both history and storytelling, and he delighted in sharing these cinematic experiences with his family.

Roger had a warm and welcoming nature that drew people to him. He enjoyed lively conversations and connecting with others wherever he went, leaving a lasting impression on all who met him. He loved being a positive influence on the younger generation, even taking the time to teach them to drive, and always encouraged those around him to do their best.

Above all, Roger was a man of faith. A devoted Christian, he loved Jesus deeply and carried that love into the way he treated his family and everyone around him. His kindness, faithfulness, and gentle spirit were a reflection of his walk with Christ.

Roger also had a lifelong love for dogs, especially collies. He was rarely without one by his side, and over the years shared his life with his beloved dogs Tammy, Laddie, and Bodhi, who brought him constant joy and companionship.

He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his sweet and loving nature, and the way he lived every day with love and devotion to his wife and children.

• His wife, Corinne Smith and their children: Alexis Smith (predeceased: Jarett Yarbrough), Jarrett Smith (Casey Smith), and his daughter Sheri Richardson (Damon Richardson)

• His siblings: brother Stanford Smith (predeceased: Catherine Barbara Smith) and sister Nancy Riley (Charles Riley)

• His grandchildren: Morgan Moye, Asher Smith, Everett Smith, Caden Richardson, Daylin Richardson, Levi Richardson, and Rylee Richardson

• Also many nieces, nephews, and cousins

Roger's legacy of love, laughter, faith, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Memorial Visitation with family and friends will be held at 10:00 a.m., with the Memorial Service following at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home 740 S. Edmonds Ln. Lewisville, Texas 75067.

Burial Services will be held at The Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery with military honors at a later date.
