Robert Preston Williamson Sr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia to his parents Virginia and Glen Williamson.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Williamson, daughter Susan Smitherman and her husband Bruce, and his sons Robert Williamson Jr. and Rodney Williamson and his wife Shelia. Along with his granddaughters, Emma Williamson, Lynlee Williamson and Erin Pritchett; His grandsons Andrew Smitherman, Austin Smitherman and his great grandchildren Cayden Sugar, Blaine Henry, Ada Pritchett and Finn Pritchett.
