Robert Dean Jones, a beloved father, grandfather, husband, friend, and disciple passed away at the age of 94 on Thursday, June 19,2025.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Bob's life was filled with purpose and selflessness.  He found his purpose, when he found Christ as his Lord and Savior at 27.  In all his years, Bob never complained about anything.  He grew up in times of tremendous hardship, World War 2 that started in 1939, the great depression that ended in 1941, no electricity, no indoor plumbing, no telephone and so much more.  Yet, he embraced each day with gratitude and a positive spirit. He understood that life's challenges are opportunities for God to refine us.  One of his favorite sayings when things were tough was "it's good training for you" and he choose to rely on his faith and love for Jesus Christ to guide him through the difficult times.

Bob's love extended beyond himself to an incredible woman named Darlene.  Bob first met Darlene when she was 15, he was 14.  When they met again at 26, he was immediately smitten.  They were married less than 60 days later.  She was a devout and remarkable woman of faith. He stood by her side, and never wavered to provide her care, unending support and continuous love.  Their marriage was a testament to the power of love and commitment, and an inspiration to his children, grandchildren and all those who knew them.  They were married for 63 loving years and understood respect and never had a fight.

Bob also had many professional accomplishments.  He served his country as a drill instructor, was promoted to Chief 3 warrant officer supporting the Nike Hercules Missile program, tested the first night sighting goggles, technology still used in military helicopters today, as well as the technology for the first unmanned aircraft which laid the path for the drone.  However, Bob will not be remembered for these accomplishments.  He will be remembered for his servant heart, his laugh, being a jokester, his wittiness, and his desire to tell everyone he met about Jesus and his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Lori Lei Smith and son-in-law Carey and their sons, Jason, his wife Carli and their daughter Ashlynn and Justin, his wife Katherine and their son Lincoln.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends and his legacy will live on not only through their lives but the many lives he touched and the memories he created.

All of us who knew him, know Bob is walking with Jesus.  He is no longer 94 years old but 94 years young in the presence of God who is eternal!  If there is golf in heaven or baseball, he will be playing it, and where there is praise to Christ, he will be saying and singing it!  Bob had a favorite saying, throughout the day, every day from morning tonight, his entire life… What was it… "Praise the Lord!"
