Richard John Tasso, 89, of Lewisville, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026 of heart failure. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, on January 5, 1937, Richard was a man of intellect, resilience, and a famously dry sense of humor.

A 1958 graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic, Richard dedicated much of his career to mechanical engineering within the aerospace industry. Whether navigating the high-stakes world of flight in California or pivoting his career to Florida and Oklahoma during industry shifts, Richard's priority was always his family's well-being. His career even took him to France—an "interesting experience" he frequently recalled with a smile. In his later years, he found unexpected joy and a wealth of new stories as a scheduler for Enterprise Rent-A-Car and the "guys" he worked with.

Richard's life was enriched by his love for classical music, flying Cessna planes, and reading a good book. He cherished his time at Lewisville Estates, where he found a second family in the staff and residents.

He is survived by his daughters and their families: Vanessa Tasso (Gary McClaran), Dori Dawsey (Kyle), and Valerie Zampardi (Peter), along with his granddaughters, Kimberlee and Kaylee, and Rachel, Rebecca, and great-grandson, Evan. Other special people he met in Texas include Nicole and Wayne. He now joins his beloved wife, Rose Marie, his sister Carol, and his parents, Anna and John, who preceded him in death.

He was loved and will missed greatly.
