Regina Cavallin was born 82 years ago in San José, Costa Rica, the second of nine children in a large and close-knit family. Though her early years were marked by poverty and hardship, she worked tirelessly to get ahead in life and develop her God-given talents. She pursued education and self-improvement with determination, spending her formative years at a Catholic convent. She left the convent in the 9th grade to help her family. Subsequently, she had the opportunity to come to the United States where she met her husband, Dale. They married in San Diego 60 years ago, building a life together filled with love, hard work, and family. Regina had a full life, always striving for beauty and perfection in everything she did.

Regina was a natural entrepreneur and self-taught businesswoman. She built a thriving drapery and interior decorating business from the ground up, creating elaborate designs late into the night. She also opened her home to international students, offering not only a place to stay but a sense of family while they studied English in San Diego. After her retirement, Regina and Dale moved to north Texas to be closer to family.

Together with Dale, she raised three children. Her son Edward lives in Finland and serves as VP of Finance for a multinational company. Her daughter Mary Ann pursued a legal career and now practices law in Fort Worth and Southlake. Her first-born daughter, Diana, embarked on a different course in her life in rural Missouri, where she and her husband made their home until her untimely passing a few years ago.

Through it all, Regina was defined by her resilience, generosity, and boundless energy. She worked hard, cared deeply, and gave of herself fully as a wife, a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a faithful friend to many. She will always be remembered for her courage, her hospitality, her dynamic personality, and her unwavering love and devotion for her family.

She will be severely missed by everyone who has known her. We are saying farewell to her with a very heavy heart as she completes her journey in this life and joins God for the wonderful life awaiting her in Heaven.
