Prudence (Prue) Joy Kockler was born on January 10, 1943 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Prue always spoke fondly about growing up on a farm in Oklahoma and attending a one room schoolhouse there. In that one room public schoolhouse, Prue's teacher introduced her to Jesus and Prue began to develop an unwavering faith which would characterize her entire life.

When Prue was in the third grade, Prue and her parents moved to Fort Worth, Texas. When Prue was 16 years old, she met and started dating Barry Kockler when some mutual friends introduced them. They married on June 2, 1961, and they celebrated 63 years of marriage this year. During the first twelve years of Prue and Barry's marriage, they moved across the country several times with Barry's engineering career. They welcomed three sons Curtis, Keith, and Steve.

In 1973, Barry and Prue relocated back to Texas and built a house in the town now known as Double Oak. In 1978, they added a daughter, Tammy, to the family. Prue's life work was motherhood, and her children were blessed to be loved well by her.

Prue had organizational gifts and a can-do spirit that allowed her to function as an entrepreneur throughout her life. She owned a drapery business when Lewisville was a small town, then The Pocket Place in Dallas which served pita pocket sandwiches, and later Love of Home Creations a business with which she framed pictures and made crafts for crafts shows. Prue used her gift of hospitality to welcome others to her home to celebrate big and small occasions. Her home was important to her, and she made it feel like a haven with antiques, always a weeping willow planted in the front yard, and her famous pralines at Christmas.

Prue loved her Savior and wanted everyone to know Him and love Him too. During her last years, she published a book about her life as a testament to God's faithfulness throughout her life journey.

Prue is survived by her faithful husband, Barry Kockler; her children and their spouses Curtis and Victoria Kockler of Oak Point, Texas; Keith and Kelli Kockler of Double Oak, Texas; Steve and Stacey Kockler of Flower Mound, Texas; and Tammy and Jeff Lilly of Flower Mound, Texas. She is survived by her grandchildren Alisha (Chas) Hamel, Emily (Greg) Adams, Tyler Kockler, Hunter (Victoria) Kockler, Makayla Kockler, Gabriel Kockler, Lani Kockler, Grant Lilly, Charlotte Lilly, Hannah Kockler, Clark Lilly, and Creed Lilly.  She is also survived by great-grandchildren Aspyn Hamel, Eliza Kockler, and Enoch Kockler.

Prue cherished her friendships and extended family relationships. She was a great family historian and researched her genealogy, especially of the Loyd family. She is survived by many cousins and friends that she enjoyed catching up with regularly.

Visitation will be held at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville, Texas October 23 from 7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. A celebration of Prue's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 24 at RockPointe Church in Flower Mound, Texas.The service can be live-streamed at http://rpc.fm/pruekockler

Interment and graveside service will directly follow at Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville, Texas.
