Penelope "Penny" Pappas Trainham

September 29, 1944- September 26, 2023

Penelope "Penny" Pappas Trainham passed away on September 26,2023 with her family lovingly by her side.

Penny was born on September 29, 1944, to Thomas and Laura Pappas in Anthony, New Mexico. Her family later moved to Alamogordo New Mexico where she grew up and attended school graduating from Alamogordo H.S.  Penny met and married the love of her life, her husband, William L. Trainham working at her parents' family-owned restaurant "The Frostee" in Alamogordo.  Penny and her husband and family relocated to El Paso, Texas, where she had a very successful career as a Senior Executive Sales Director with Mary Kay Cosmetics while raising her two children.  In retirement, Penny and her husband moved to Lubbock, Tx and eventually settled in Denton, TX to be closer to their children and their grandchildren. Penny loved to be with her family above anything else and being a grandmother most of all.

Penny will be remembered as a spiritual, kind, giving woman devoted to her family and friends. Everyone she met knew that she truly cared for them. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Penny is survived by her husband of 57 years, William L. Trainham of Denton, Tx.; her brother Tommy Pappas of Alamogordo, NM her son William S. Trainham of Dallas NC , her daughter in law Rhonda Trainham, her granddaughter Hannah Trainham; her daughter Cynthia Wentworth of Corinth Tx; her son in law Scott Wentworth; her grandson Zach Wentworth, her grandson Michael Wentworth, her granddaughter Kate Baker, her granddaughter Anna Wentworth;  and many nieces, nephews and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Laura Pappas, her sister; Cassandra "Cass" Pappas Dennis, and her sister; Christine Pappas Pike.

A celebration of life service will be held on October 2, 2023, at 2pm at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home, 740 S. Edmonds Lane, Lewisville, Tx.75067.

Interment will be in Benjamin Cemetery, Benjamin, Texas.
