Pedro Mungia, age 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in Lewisville, Texas.

Born on March 1, 1929, in Live Oak County, Texas, Pedro was raised in Robstown, where he met the love of his life, Maria. The two were married for 77 years and built a life centered on love, family, and hard work. Pedro worked for Reynolds Metals Company near Corpus Christi, Texas, where he retired. In the 1980s, he and Maria relocated with their children to Lewisville, where he spent the rest of his life.

He is survived by his children: Linda Cantu, Esteban Mungia, Pedro Mungia, Jr., Sylvia Waddell, Eddie Mungia, and Adan Mungia, Jr., along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who lovingly called him "Guelo."

Pedro was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria Mungia, and his children: Enrique Mungia, Esmeralda Alegria, Elias Mungia, and Ernesto Mungia.

Pedro had a deep love for music. He spent countless hours relaxing with the radio nearby, especially enjoying Tejano and conjunto music. Whether humming along or simply soaking in the melodies, music brought him joy and comfort throughout his life.

He will be remembered for his warmth, his devotion to family, and the familiar soundtrack of songs that always filled his home.

The family will receive friends from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral home in Lewisville. Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be conducted Thursday, August 7, 2025, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Coppell. Interment will follow at Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville.
