Patsy "Pat" Jones Murray passed away Sunday August 11, 2024, to be with her heavenly father.  Pat was born March 3, 1944, and raised in Thomaston Alabama by her parents W.T and Inez Holley.  Pat graduated in 1962 from Marengo County High School in Thomaston, Alabama and attended the University of Montevallo in Alabama.

Pat married Freddie Jones in 1968 in Alabama and shortly relocated to Lewisville, Texas as Fred's career post Navy moved them to DFW area with Delta airlines.  Fred and Pat had three children together, but unfortunately, this marriage ended far too early with a tragic event taking Fred's life.

Pat and Oliver "Bub" Murray met a few years later after being introduced by mutual friends.  Their love moved swiftly as Pat and Bub were married January 17, 1976, which was within 6 weeks of their 1st date.

Together, Bub and Pat parented a family of her three children and Bub's two children.  The first Presbyterian Church in Lewisville, Texas is where the family raised their kids making many lifelong friends for Bub, Pat and the children alike.

Bub and Pat spent much of their time at Cedar Creek Lake with family and friends.  Upon retirement, Bub and Pat Moved to Cedar Creek to be closer to their friends as their 5 children were now all grown and could bring their families there to visit.

Bub and Pat moved back to the Dallas area in 2014 to be closer to their grandchildren and health care for Bub, as Pat cared for him daily prior to Bub's passing in June of 2018.

Pat was a fierce competitor in everything she touched.  She was an amazing tennis player that changed the love of a tennis ball to a golf ball over time.  We often heard "Your mom is Great", which makes sense understanding her competitive nature.  When asked why golf and no more tennis, "The women down here at Cedar Creek are not the same level as Dallas, so I switched to golf."

Pat's love for her family and her grandkids was second to none.  A funny moment, Pat (now GG), spent months deciding what she was going to be called by her first grandchild.  On the day he first spoke her name "GG", it wasn't what she picked, but she was so happy that GG was all hers she didn't care.

In her final years, Pat spent as much time as possible with her children and grandkids as they were her everything.

Unfortunately, in 2021, Pat was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer and was treated with chemo monthly until her passing on August 11, 2024.  She fought an amazing battle with family by her side and always stayed positive regardless of the situation.

Pat is survived by her 5 children, Holley Pomykal and husband Preston Pomykal, Richard Jones, Charles Jones, Matt Murray and his wife Melanie Murray and Chris Murray; 5 grandchildren: Pierce Pomykal, Paxton Pomykal, Porter Pomykal, Cole Murray and Luke Murray;1 sister, Marilyn.

Pat was preceded in Death by her parents, WT and Inez Holley; 1 sister: Carolyn and two loves of her life Freddie Jones and Bub Murray.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday August 17th  at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville Texas, 740 South Edmonds Lane, Lewisville, Texas 75067.  As this is a celebration of life, the family asks that you dress casual and wear your favorite summer colors to celebrate this wonderful Mom, Sister, Cousin, Daughter, Aunt, Wife, Friend and GG.
