Pastor Daniel Ortiz Sr.

April 10, 1941 – June 21, 2025

Pastor Daniel Ortiz Sr. went home to be with the Lord on June 21, 2025, at 11:25 p.m., passing peacefully in his home next to his family in Lewisville, Texas.

Born on April 10, 1941, in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, Daniel married the love of his life, Aida Ortiz, on February 16, 1963. Together they shared a legacy of faith, love, and family, raising four children and later welcoming 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He proudly served for six years in the U.S. Army National Guard before beginning a career in business, where he worked as District Manager for Flagg Brothers Shoes. But his life's true calling came in 1984, when he surrendered to full-time ministry. Leaving the secular workforce in 1985, he moved to Indiana to pursue Bible college, graduating in 1995.

After accepting Christ as his Savior at the age of 33, Pastor Ortiz served as a deacon at Primera Iglesia Bautista de Levittown, Puerto Rico. After graduating from Bible college this devoted servant of God, pastored churches in Rockford, IL; Elmsford, NY; Deltona, FL; and retired in 2011 from the Iglesia Biblica Bautista in Hammond, IN.

He was known for his faithful walk with the Lord — rising early each morning to sit with his Bible and a cup of coffee at the dining room table. His steady presence, quiet strength, and love for God deeply impacted all who knew him.

Pastor Ortiz is survived by his children Danny, Addy, Mike, and Sulmy, along with his 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren who carry on his legacy of faith.

The family will receive visitors at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home 740 E. Edmonds Ln. Lewisville, Texas, on Monday, June 30, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, at 11:00 a.m. at Iglesia Bautista Fundamental, 975 Fox Avenue, Lewisville, TX 75067. It will be transmitted live via YouTube by going to ibflewisvilletx.com and click watch live.

El Pastor Daniel Ortiz Sr. fue llamado a la presencia del Señor el 21 de junio del 2025 a las 11:25 p.m., falleciendo en paz en su hogar junto a su familia en Lewisville, Texas.

Nacido el 10 de abril de 1941 en Aibonito, Puerto Rico, Daniel se casó con el amor de su vida, Aida Ortiz, el 16 de febrero de 1963. Juntos formaron un legado de fe, amor y familia, criando a cuatro hijos y luego celebrando la llegada de 11 nietos y 14 bisnietos.

Sirvió con orgullo durante seis años en la Guardia Nacional del Ejército de los Estados Unidos antes de comenzar una carrera en el mundo empresarial, donde trabajó como Gerente de Distrito para Flagg Brothers Shoes. Sin embargo, su verdadero llamado llegó en el 1984, cuando se entregó por completo al ministerio. Dejó el trabajo secular en el 1985 y se mudó a Indiana para asistir al colegio bíblico, graduándose en el 1995.

Tras aceptar a Cristo como su Salvador a los 33 años, el Pastor Ortiz sirvió como diácono en la Primera Iglesia Bautista de Levittown, Puerto Rico. Después de graduarse del colegio bíblico, este devoto siervo de Dios pastoreó iglesias en Rockford, Illinois; Elmsford, Nueva York; Deltona, Florida; y se jubiló en el 2011 de la Iglesia Bíblica Bautista en Hammond, Indiana.

Fue conocido por su caminar constante con Dios — comenzando cada día en la mesa del comedor con su Biblia y una taza de café. Su presencia tranquila, fortaleza silenciosa y profundo amor por el Señor dejaron huella en todos los que lo conocieron.

Al pastor Ortiz le sobreviven sus hijos Danny, Addy, Mike y Sulmy, junto con sus 11 nietos y 14 bisnietos, quienes continúan su legado de fe.

La familia recibirá visitas en Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 740 Edmonds Ln. Lewisville, Texas, el lunes, 30 de junio de 6:00 a 8:00 p.m.

El servicio fúnebre se llevará a cabo el martes, 1 de julio a las 11:00 a.m. en la Iglesia Bautista Fundamental, 975 Fox Avenue Lewisville, TX 75067. Será transmitido en vivo por YouTube yendo a ibflewisvilletx.com y haciendo click en watch live.
