Pamela Ruth Beachley, 68, departed this world on April 4, 2026, after a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by family and friends, and after a difficult few weeks, is finally at peace.

Pam was born in Paris, Texas, on March 13, 1958, the youngest child of Dr. and Mrs. Charles E. Beachley, Jr.  Pam graduated from Paris High School in 1975, when she left to attend the University of Texas at Austin. Pam graduated with a BA Humanities in 1979 and worked briefly at the UT Computer Science department before attending the University of Texas Law School. Pam graduated from the University of Texas Law School in 1986.

Pam was a renowned workers' compensation expert in Texas and beyond. She was appointed general counsel for the Joint Select Committee on Workers' Compensation in the 1980s. The Committee's final work led to adoption of a "new" workers' compensation law. Many prominent business and governmental organizations then formed the Business Insurance Consumer's Association (BICA) and hired Pam as Executive Director. Pam continued her lobby career representing business and governmental entities through the 2021 legislative session. Her clients respected Pam's legislative, regulatory and legal expertise and many of her clients became personal friends. Pam also donated countless hours supporting St. James Episcopal Church initiatives, including Jazz at St. James.

Pam most recently resided in Flower Mound, Texas. However, she spent the majority of her life in Austin. Pam put down roots in Austin and lived there from 1975 until 2021.  During that time, Pam developed many enduring relationships and a deep love of the city itself.  In her heart, Pam never truly left her close friends or the city she loved.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Charles E. Beachley, Jr., and Joan Nichols Beachley. Pam is survived by her brother, Charles E. Beachley, III, nephew, Charles E. Beachley, IV; her sister, Ann Beachley Martin, nephew, Christopher Martin, niece, Alison Martin (Edwards), nephew, Gregory Martin; and her sister, Holly Beachley Brear, nephew, Isaac Brear, niece, Danielle Brear, nephew, Noah Brear. She is also survived by numerous great nephews and nieces, Hannah Edwards, Victoria Beachley, Henry Edwards, Will Martin, Victor Martin, Bennett Brear, Elliott Brear, Kelly Brear, and Colson Martin.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 10:00AM, at the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation in Lewisville, Texas. Additionally, a memorial service will be held at St. James Episcopal Church in Austin, on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 10:30AM.
