Nathan Eric Sundberg, 38, of Flower Mound, Texas, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on May 15, 2025. Nathan was born to Carey and Debra Sundberg on November 27, 1986, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Nathan grew up in The Colony, Texas, attending school in the same community from Kindergarten through 12th grade. He was known for his impish grin, quick wit, and the rhythms he played with his hands. As early as 2nd grade, he was using two pencils as drumsticks on his desk, unable to sit quietly without creating a beat. Nathan was hilarious (a class clown of sorts) and kept everyone laughing constantly. He is remembered as humming, singing, and chest-drumming all over town- down the aisles at Walmart, in Royal Rangers during Wednesday Night Church, and even in the shower every night- that kid was always making music. Nathan's most important question in his childhood days was, "Is it worth it to risk this fun I want to have for the punishment that's coming?" and the answer was always a resounding, "YES!"

After graduating from The Colony High School in The Colony, Texas, in 2005, he attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, to study Music Education. This is where he met his bride, Morgan Boecker, and spent the next 20 years loving and caring for her. Nathan and Morgan were married on June 18, 2011.

Nathan enjoyed a 7-year career as a Percussion Director at Lone Star High School in Frisco, Texas. His students earned several national awards and distinctions under his teaching. He worked tirelessly for the students in his program. His entrepreneurial spirit drew him to begin a new venture as a general contractor, improving the living spaces of many clients he blessed in his 10-year career. He also enjoyed providing quality assistance to homeowners and commercial business owners through roofing contracts at New View Roofing. One of his favorite aspects of his job was helping people to love the space they lived in and creating beautiful and restful spaces for people to enjoy.

One of the best days of Nathan's life was June 4, 2022- the day Ryan Matthew Sundberg entered the world and made him Daddy. Nathan adored his son and loved spending time with him- reading and bath time were his favorite moments to enjoy with Ryan. Nathan was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Yvonne Sundberg, and his maternal grandmother, Sue Erwin. Nathan is survived by his wife, Morgan Boecker Sundberg; his son, Ryan Matthew Sundberg; his father, Carey Sundberg; his mother, Debra Sundberg; his sister, J'Layne White (David); nephew Jude White; niece Delaney White; in-laws Brian and Laura Boecker; brother-in-law Jordan Boecker (Casey); sister-in-law Lauren Ward (Garrett); nephew Emmett Ward; niece Elliott Ward; and brother-in-law Logan Boecker.

Services will be held at The Village Church- Highland Village Campus: 1700 Highland Village Road, Highland Village, Texas, 75077 on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 11 am. The family will receive visitors prior to the service at 10 am. A procession will follow the service to the interment which will take place at 1 pm at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas.
