Matthew James Ross was born on Thursday, February 11th, 1971 in Monahans TX to Frank and Sherry
Ross. He became the third and youngest brother in the family to Michael and Mark. His sister Melissa
came into the world 355 days after Matthew's birthday. Matthew sadly passed away on Tuesday,
October 22nd, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was a loving, hard working man who
cared deeply for his family and friends and enjoyed life to the fullest every day.

Matthew was born with a cleft palate that was able to be fixed but this caused Matthew to be bullied
which meant his brothers and sisters were always starting fights to defend him. Matt found himself also
making friends with several girls in his class who would also stick up for him, and Matthew has been a
ladies' man ever since. Matthew went to schools across Garland and graduated from North Garland High
School in 1990.

Matt was a hard worker his entire life. His father Frank built and worked on pools, so Matthew was on
the job site constantly through his teenage years. Matthew knew how to operate all of the equipment
before he could even drive. Matthew drove bobcats, worked dump trucks, and even changed oil on the
vehicles. Eventually Matthew began working for Blockbuster during nights where he would buff floors
across stores all over the metroplex. He worked there for over 5 years before going back to work with
his father doing pool work. Matthew shot gunite concrete for these pools alongside his father for 10
years, never missing a day of work and getting to spend precious time with his beloved dad Frank.

Matt later worked for Vista Ridge Concrete Pumping manning a pump truck for over 15 years, and with
Cyclone Trucking until he passed. Matthew took great pride in his work as it took him all over DFW.
Matthew worked on DART rail stations, highways, shopping centers, homes, and took great pleasure in
knowing he was part of the literal foundation of so much of the city he grew up in and loved.

At the age of 24 Matthew and Anne Taylor brought their only daughter Kyndall Nicole Ross into this
world. Kyndall was, and remained to his final days, his favorite and proudest treasure in this world. Their
bond brought Matthew joy and purpose and there was not a day that went by that Matthew did not tell
her that he loved her dearly.

At age 26 Matthew was diagnosed with Leukemia and was given a prognosis of 6 months to live.
Alongside his friends and family, he fought hard for several years and was able to go into remission.
Matthew again battled Lung Cancer in 2016 where he again was given 6 months to live and again put his
cancer into remission with the help of those he loved. In July of 2024 Matthew was again diagnosed with
Leukemia. On October 22nd, 2024, Matthew passed away peacefully surrounded by family after his long
battle with cancer.
