Mary Genevieve Voss Payne, age 90, peacefully passed away December 10, 2023, at the Rambling Oaks Extensive Care facility in Highland Village, Texas.

She was born May 23, 1933, in Ponca City, Oklahoma to the late Dalton and Mary Edith Driver Voss.  She attended and graduated Abilene Christian College with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Education with Reading as her specialty.  Known by her family and friends as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother; Genevieve was an excellent seamstress and cook. She was a superb Bible class teacher and was a strong woman of faith who selflessly served her church family, many friends, and neighbors. She was loved by all who knew her.

Genevieve was pre-deceased by her husband of 67 years, Alvis Houston Payne; her parents; a sister, Katherine Voss Brewer; and a brother, David Voss.

She is survived by her son Rex Alan and Suzanne Burgher Payne of Flower Mound, Texas; her daughter Gayla June and Nathan Prevost of Denton, Texas; four grandchildren: Jonathan Voss Mills of Denton, Brooke Leigh and Marcus Beecher of Colorado, Mary Katherine Payne and Mario Biancolella of Germany, and Rachel Payne and Michael Dickson of Flower Mound; five great grandchildren: Charlotte Genevieve Beecher, Marek Fox Beecher, Evelyn Marie Beecher, Theodore Rex Biancolella, and Baby "HoneyBear" Dickson due in January of 2024; two brothers: Edward Voss of Rockport, TX, Dale and Joyce Voss of Abilene, TX; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 740 S Edmonds Ln, in Lewisville on Monday, December 18, 2023with visitation beginning at 1:00pm and a memorial service at 2:00pm.  The final resting place will be Rolling Oaks Memorial Center in Coppell, TX.
