Mary Ellen Mayberry, 81, of Lake Dallas, Texas, passed away on May 19, 2024, in Corinth, Texas.  Mary was born in Neosho, MO to Harry and Mary Friend on August 2, 1942.   She married Joseph D. Mayberry on June 12, 1963, in Reno, Nevada.

Anyone who knew her knew she loved to paint, read, sew, crochet and even liked knitting. She also enjoyed many other crafts and was very good at all of them. She was a homemaker and took great care of her family and her home was always beautiful and welcoming. She made the best chocolate chip cookies you'll ever eat.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Joeseph D. Mayberry, sister Charlotte Friend, brother Billy Friend, sister Fleta (Judy) Legg, brother Jay Friend, sister Ila Hagood and sister Dellores Reynolds.

Mary is survived by her daughter Kelly Jo Hancock and husband Michael J. Hancock Sr, son Joseph (Dale) Mayberry and wife Cynthia Mayberry. Her brother Harry (Coy) Friend, brother Danny Payton, sister Donna Edwards, sister Susan Sparlin and brother Roy Lee Payton. Granddaughter Cassie Fischer, grandson Mardi Haag, grandson Diego Mayberry, granddaughter Miranda Mayberry and step grandson Michael Jay Hancock Jr. Great grandchildren Tiernan Haag, Landrie Fischer, Emmie Fischer, Milo Haag and many nieces and nephews.
