In Loving Memory of Marlene Denise Scholl

March 8, 1952 – July 22, 2026

Our family is sad to announce that Marlene Denise Scholl, age 74, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on March 8, 1952, in Butler, Pennsylvania, Marlene lived a life filled with love, laughter, family traditions, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Wilda Goldinger; her brothers, Ronald Goldinger and Daniel Goldinger; and her beloved granddaughter, Ashley Rose Miller.

On the same day that Marlene passed away, her beloved husband, Mark Scholl, also met his heavenly reward. Together, they shared 38 years of love and companionship. Their passing on the same day is a powerful testament to the bond they shared—a love that endured through every season of life and now continues into eternity.

Marlene is survived by her loving children: Paula Gruettner, Douglas Miller and wife Rebecca Miller, and Theresa Gates. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Patrick Henry, Brittany Griffin, Stephen Gruettner, Troy Davis, Dallas Gates, and KJ Gates, who brought immeasurable joy to her life.

She is also survived by her brother, Andrew Goldinger and wife Sebrina; her sisters, Yvonne Danaher and husband Michael and Vicki Kasing and husband Jerry; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Marlene spent many years working as a skilled diamond setter at Jostens, where her precision, craftsmanship, and dedication were admired by those around her. Following early retirement, she moved to the lake house, embracing the simple pleasures of life and the company of family and friends.

Anyone who knew Marlene knew she had a special love for Christmas. The holiday season brought out her joyful spirit, and she treasured shopping trips with her grandchildren, creating memories they will carry with them forever. She had a fun and playful side as well—she loved spending time in the swimming pool, though she was famous for trying not to get her hair wet. She was also a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, and many Sundays were spent cheering on her favorite team alongside Mark, creating traditions and memories that became part of their family's story.

Though her family mourns her passing, they find comfort in knowing that Marlene and Mark are together once again
