In Loving Memory of Mark Scholl

May 16, 1955 – July 22, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Scholl, who departed this life on July 22, 2026, at the age of 71. Just minutes before Mark's passing, his beloved wife of 38 years, Marlene Scholl, passed away as well. Their family finds comfort in knowing they left this world together, just as they had spent their lives—side by side as true soulmates.

Born on May 16, 1955, in Brentwood, New York, Mark eventually made his home in Fort Worth, Texas, where he built a life centered on  family, friendship, and hard work. Mark dedicated over 50 years of his professional life to Ed A. Wilson Construction Company, where he served as Vice President before retiring in 2022 at the age of 67. His leadership, dedication, and integrity earned him the admiration of colleagues and friends alike.

While Mark took great pride in his career, his greatest joy was his family. Mark was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Gladys Scholl and his brother, Kevin Scholl. He is survived by his loving daughters, Tiffany Scholl and husband Scott Hayworth, and Tonya Howard and husband Brandon Howard. He was a proud grandfather to Jacob Martin, Jaxon Hayworth, Jayse Hayworth, Olivia Howard, and Preston Howard, all of whom brought immeasurable happiness to his life.

Mark is also survived by his sisters, Peggy Gilbert and Linda Grimaldi and husband Nick, along with numerous extended family members and lifelong friends who will forever cherish his memory.

An adventurous spirit, Mark loved traveling the country in his RV with Marlene and their beloved dogs, Missy and Buddy. Affectionately referred to as his "CHIN-dren," his dogs held a special place in his heart and were loved as much as any member of his blended family.

The lake was Mark's happy place. Whether he was out on his boat, relaxing by the pool, tending to his smoker, or hosting one of his famous family barbecues, Mark found joy in bringing people together. He was always planning the next weekend gathering at the lake house, where family and friends could eat, swim, laugh, and spend the day tubing on the water. His home was a place where everyone felt welcome, and his generosity, hospitality, and larger-than-life personality created memories that will be treasured forever.

Mark had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel like family. He loved deeply, laughed often, and never missed an opportunity to create lasting memories with those he loved most.

Although Mark's passing leaves a tremendous void, the love he shared and the countless memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy of devotion to family, friendship, and community will never be forgotten.

Mark will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Marlene, united once again for eternity.
