Mark Evan Hermanson

Mark Evan Hermanson, 70, passed away on September 11, 2026, in Lewisville, Texas. He is survived by his husband, Jay Hermanson. They shared 50 years together, including 11 years of marriage. He is also survived by his sister, Dawn Leon (John Leon); his niece, Tiffany Welteroth (Christopher Welteroth); his great-nephew, Alexander Welteroth; his nephew, Jason Leon; and his great-niece, Selene Bub-Leon. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Arlene Hermanson, and his father, John Victor Hermanson.

Originally from Illinois, Mark and Jay made their home in several Texas communities, including Flower Mound and Laredo, before settling in Lewisville. Over the years, they shared their home with many dogs whom they considered their children.

Mark shared his love of movies and good food with his husband. They often became regulars at restaurants, where Mark's gift for conversation helped them befriend the staff. He made friends easily wherever he went.

Mark spent many years working in accounting for several companies, including Mazer Chemical, Oracle, and Time Warner Cable. He later retired from Spectrum.

Mark will be remembered for his warmth, his gift for conversation, and the genuine interest he showed in the people around him. Whether sharing a favorite meal, discussing a movie, or welcoming friends into his home, he made others feel at ease. His presence had a lasting impact on the friends and family he loved, and he will be dearly missed.
