Marilyn Nealon, age 85, passed away on May 17, 2026, due to congestive heart failure. Marilyn was born on October 17, 1940, in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska, to John and Olga Mahoney. She grew up on a farm in a family of nine.

She attended Notre Dame Academy in Omaha, Nebraska, graduating in 1958. In 1966, she married Jack Nealon, and together they raised two children, Tim and Kathleen. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and cherished the friendships and community she found there.

During the 1990s, Marilyn enjoyed her time at Castle Barrett Reception Hall, where she especially liked being able to work alongside family and made many memories that stayed with her over the years. In 2017, she moved to Flower Mound, Texas.

Marilyn found joy in spending time with family and friends, reading, relaxing with a good glass of wine, and playing Words With Friends, a game she happened to be exceptionally good at.

One of Marilyn's favorite roles in life was becoming a grandmother to Mason and Grace Karch. She loved being involved in their lives and was proud of the people they became.

Marilyn will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her kindness, and her sense of humor. She will be deeply missed.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Nealon; her parents, John and Olga Mahoney; her brothers Bob, Jim, Dick, Gene, and Jun Mahoney; and her sister, Irene Mahoney.

She is survived by her son, Tim Nealon and daughter-in-law Marcie; her daughter, Kathleen Karch and son-in-law Chris Karch; and her grandchildren, Mason and Grace Karch.

At Marilyn's request, the family will hold a private remembrance.
