Harms, Marilyn Therese (Piala), October 3, 1951 – November 10, 2024, is survived by her husband of 50 years, Shawn Harms and two children, son Nathan (Andrea) Harms and daughter Jaime Harms, granddaughters Iris Harms and Lyra Harms and grandson Ashford Harms, brother James (Catherine) Piala and brother John (Susan) Piala and several nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her father, G. Edward Piala and mother, Mary (Behr) Piala.

Marilyn graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, completing her internship at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL. She was board certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology and throughout her 39-year career, she worked at numerous hospitals, laboratories and clinics.

Marilyn was a life-long practicing Catholic and pro-life advocate. She actively supported numerous church ministries and was a Stephen Minister. She loved music and was trained in cello and piano. She pursued her life-long interest in sewing and became an avid quilter. Her other interests included cruising, bowling, book club, euchre and pinochle. She developed and maintained many life-long friendships.

Marilyn was a kind and loving woman, and a devoted wife and mother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.Visitation will be on November 17 from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM (Rosary at 7:00 PM) at  Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 740 S. Edmonds Lane, Lewisville, Texas. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on November 18 at 11:00 AM at St. Philip the Apostle, 5201 Cross Timbers Road (FM 1171 and Flower Mound Road), Flower Mound, Texas.
