Marie Ripps, my wonderful loving sister, went to the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and our blessed Mother on May 16, 2025. Marie was born February 3, 1940, at Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.

Maria was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mamie and Herman Ripps. She is survived by a loving brother Herman Ripps, Jr., and cousins Karl Kircher, Matthew Kircher and Michale Kircher, Johnathan Mabrito, and close friend Gary Smith. Marie Wants to be known as an educator. She taught English in a highly Hispanic school district and saved countless students by teaching the English language. She developed a plan to teach English to special needs children and was invited to SMU to demonstrate. Some of her plan was adopted by DISD.

In 2017, after she retired, she moved to Lewisville, Texas after Hurricane Harvey destroyed her beach house. There, she lived her remaining years with her brother Herman Ripps.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, Lewisville, Texas.

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 23, 2025, 10:00 am, at Round Grove Cemetery, Lewisville, Texas.
