Lupita, as her family lovingly knew her, entered eternal life peacefully on January 2, 2025. She was born in Mexico to Rosa and Herminio Trevino, spending her early years there before moving to La Joya, Texas, at the age of 14. A dedicated student, Lupita graduated with honors, ranking 3rd in her class, and later pursued higher education with unwavering determination.

In 1988, Lupita relocated to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where she met and married the love of her life, Florentino Rivera. Their love story was unique—they married not once, but twice, and in two different countries. Together, they built their home and life in Lewisville, Texas, where Lupita thrived personally and professionally. Tino was her number one supporter in her education and all her endeavors. He never hesitated to cheer her on and encourage her, both in the good times and the challenging ones. He loved her deeply and often expressed how their 28 years of marriage were filled with love and happiness.

Lupita's career began in business administration, but her passion for education led her to dedicate over 20 years as an inspiring educator. She was a lifelong learner, earning two bachelor's degrees, three master's degrees, and nearly completing her PhD before cancer entered her life in 2012.

Despite this challenge, Lupita became a true warrior, fighting bravely with her family by her side. While she did not have biological children, Lupita embraced a maternal role for her siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews and godchildren. In 2016, during a moment of unexpected blessing, Lisbeth and Juan entered her life, fulfilling her dream of motherhood. She cherished them deeply and took immense pride in calling them her children. Her family will forever be grateful to Ernestina and Desiderio (Lelo) Rivera for entrusting their children to Lupita and Florentino.

Lupita was known for her perfectionism, drive, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. She was an exceptional cook and took pride in delighting others with her culinary creations. Lupita always remembered special occasions, making it a point to call loved ones on their birthdays and celebrate their achievements. Family was her highest priority, and she often traveled to South Texas and Mexico to spend holidays, vacations, and special moments with those she held dear.

Now, she reunites with her parents, Rosa and Herminio Trevino, and her brother Herberto Trevino, who welcome her with open arms.
Lupita leaves behind her beloved husband, Tino; her cherished children, Lisbeth and Juan Jose; her sister, Rosa Elisa Trevino; her brothers, Herminio Jr. and Erbey Trevino; nieces and nephews; 14 great-nieces and great-nephews and godchildren.

A viewing for family and friends in the DFW area will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 5:00-9:00 PM at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville, Texas.

For those in La Joya, Texas, a viewing will take place on Friday, January 10, 2025, 4:00 to 9:00 pm and Saturday 8:30 to 10:00 am at Lord and I Funeral Home in Peñitas, Texas, followed by her final resting place at Garden of Angels Cemetery in Abram on Saturday January 11, 2025, at 11:00am, where she will be laid to rest alongside her father and brother.

Lupita's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, strength, and resilience will never be forgotten.
