Marguerite Leona Rose, beloved wife and mother, entered heaven on March 4, 2025, at the age of 85. Marguerite was born on February 17, 1940, in Watseka, Illinois.  She was the daughter of Chet and Leah Payton, sister to Rex Payton and grew up on a small farm near Sheldon, Illinois.

She attended and graduated from Sheldon High School in 1958 and then went on to graduate from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana where she earned her teaching degree in Home Economics.

While attending Indiana State, Marguerite met her future husband Tom Rose at a "mixer" dance with a neighboring college he was attending.  The rest is history, and they were married 47 years.  Since marriage, they spent the entirety of their lives living in North Texas.  They shared a love of travel and visited numerous places around the world.

Marguerite began her professional journey at Singer Sewing Company and Kraft Foods before transitioning to middle school teaching. She was a practical thinker and brought those practicalities into her home economics classroom. She dedicated 14 years to teaching, concluding her career with the Lewisville Independent School District in North Texas.  Her teaching continued with her love of Sewing and Quilting. She was one of the founding members of the "Material Girls" group at her home in Robson Ranch.

She is survived by her son, Dean Rose, and his partner, Scott Hopper, of Dallas, TX; her sister-in-law, Jaci Payton, of Angels Camp, California; her niece and nephew, Brenda Jones and Benjamin Payton (Michelle), of Angels Camp, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; her parents, Chet and Leah; and her brother, Rex.
