Margie Lois Hawkins Grogan was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She passed away peacefully on October 9th, 2024, in Flower Mound, Texas, just three days shy of her 99th birthday. She was born October 12, 1925, in Sowers (aka. Irving), Texas to Leda Maude Ramsey Hawkins and Jerry Cleveland Hawkins. Lois's early life was marked by resilience and love. After her father's passing in 1934, her mother married Henry Edward Carpenter, who lovingly adopted Lois as his own.

Lois met the love of her life in October 1942. Their love story began in her mother's grocery store/gas station in Oak Cliff, where Robert was smitten at first sight and offered to buy her a Coke for her 17th birthday. Lois and Robert Earl Grogan, Jr. eloped and were married on August 26th, 1944, in Rockwall, Texas. They were inseparable from their first date, and their love grew even stronger over the years.

Early in their marriage, Lois and Robert lived in Norman, Oklahoma, where he served in the Navy as a staff aviation instructor during World War II. They shared a love for travel, visiting places like England, Canada, and Hawaii.

They soon returned to Dallas for the birth of their son, Randall, making him an official Texan.

Together, they raised three children: Randall Robert Grogan, Deborah Ann Grogan, and Beverly Phyllis Grogan.

Lois's career was a vibrant tapestry. She thrived as a real estate broker, worked as a file clerk in downtown Dallas and excelled as a mom and homemaker.

For Lois, FAITH was a cornerstone of her life. She was a devout church member over the years and more recently was a  member with CrossPoint Church of Christ. Lois's radiant smile and the joy in her eyes were a living testament to the song of Jesus that resonated in her heart.

A dedicated public servant, Lois also supported her daughter Beverly in numerous philanthropic endeavors.

Lois is survived by her son, Randall Robert Grogan (wife Linda); grandsons, Randall Robert Grogan Jr. (wife Timi) and Robert Gilbert Grogan (wife Terika), granddaughter, Melissa Gail Grogan; great-grandsons and great-granddaughters, Gwenevere Gail Grogan, Nichole Leigh Grogan, Alison Terika Grogan Sullivan (husband Nathan), Beverly Makenzie Grogan, and Christian Gilbert Grogan; and great-great-grandson Oliver. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Earl Grogan, Jr.; daughters, Deborah Ann Grogan and Beverly Phyllis Grogan; and siblings, Jerry Ray Hawkins and Bobby Lee Hawkins Pinkston.

Revelation 21:4 – "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."

Lois lived a long and fruitful life, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was known for her sharp sense of humor and mischievous wit, endearing her to all who knew her. She was a beacon of love, humor, and faith, and shared her light with everyone who crossed her path. She always enjoyed spending time with family and would magically whip up a feast at a moment's notice whenever they came by.

Lois Grogan, a daughter, a wife, a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and forever a child of God. She lives forever in our hearts. And if you're counting, it's safe to say she reached  100 years in spirit and went over the moon with our love.
