Lynn was born June 24, 1951, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, the son of Joel and Marie Kizer. He grew up alongside his older brother, Buff. After living briefly in Ft. Smith and Shreveport, Louisiana, the family settled in Longview, Texas, where Lynn became very active in Boy Scouts. Following the family's move to Ft. Worth, he served as Senior Patrol Leader of Troop 52 and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Southwest High School in 1969.

Lynn went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics with a minor in history in 1973. Raised in the Episcopal Church, he became deeply involved with the Navigators ministry while at UT. It was during this time that his faith in Christ became the central focus of his life, and he joined the Baptist Church.

After college, Lynn taught middle school math in Big Spring, Texas, where he met and married the love of his life, Beth Hebron. He later began a career in computer science with GTE, and during this time Lynn and Beth welcomed their daughter, Michelle. Work eventually took the family to Tampa, Florida, before returning to Texas, where Lynn joined the computer department at J.C. Penney.

As a child, Lynn enjoyed playing the piano and later added the guitar, which became a favorite pastime. He was especially known for composing lighthearted "little ditties" that delighted friends and colleagues. At J.C. Penney, his musical talents became a cherished tradition at meetings and gatherings. He carried this joyful gift into the community and church life as well—singing in the church choir, playing guitar and leading sing-alongs at the senior center, teaching Bible studies for the church youth group, and serving as a Deacon. He was also an active participant in Bible Study Fellowship.

In his later years, Lynn worked at Chick-fil-A, where he was adored by coworkers and customers alike. To many of the younger staff, he became a grandfatherly figure, offering kindness, encouragement, and wisdom. He "retired" only a month before his passing.

Lynn will be remembered for his deep faith in Christ and the purity of his heart, which touched everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife in Christ, Beth; their daughter Michelle and her husband Kristopher; granddaughters Halie and Willow; his brother Buff and wife Carleen; and nephews Wilson and Peter.
