Luis Jorge Betancourt, 75, of Corinth, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 23, 2025. He was born on December 17, 1949, in Havana, Cuba to Luis Joaquin and Blanca Galindo Betancourt. He was the oldest out of his four siblings. In 1960, he immigrated to America with his family.

Luis spent his younger years taking classes at the University of North Texas to study business and eventually succeeded in opening his own company, LJB Builders, which specialized in mill work. He later found a passion for the commercial construction world and built a career as a superintendent for multiple well-known construction companies over the years and ended his career working for Covenant Construction. Outside of work, he spent much of his time involved in the community, coaching his son in sports, dancing to good music, and eating good home-cooked meals.

Luis lived a life full of adventure. There was never a dull moment when he was around. Some of the things he was often known for include: his inappropriate humor, heartfelt gifts, over-the-top Christmas decorations, shocking Facebook comments, home-cooked meals, and his love for his grandkids, just to name a few.

He is survived by his mother, Blanca Betancourt; his siblings, brother, Julio Betancourt and sister, Viki Betancourt; his children, Jonathan (Lorena) Betancourt, Jennifer Betancourt, Jessica Cox, Christopher (Mollie) Betancourt, and Heather Betancourt; his beloved grandchildren, Matthew, Selena, Keifer, Christina, Grace, Brooke (David), Kain (Kailyn), Simon, Zoe, Julian, and Isaiah; and his great-grandchildren, Jamison, Carter, Avery, Nova, Atom, Finn, Kamden, Laikyn and Parker.

Luis will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, March 30, 2025, 3:00 pm, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home Chapel, 740 S. Edmonds Ln., Lewisville, TX 75067.
