Leland Houston Bryant

Leland Houston Bryant, 87, was born on December 31, 1938, in Benton, Arkansas, to Charles Winston Bryant and Janie Marie Rowland. On Saturday, July 11, 2026, Leland peacefully joined the love of his life, Linda (Hasten) Bryant, in Heaven. Together they shared 67 years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, devotion, and family.

Leland was a longtime resident of Lewisville, Texas, where he lived for more than 60 years before fulfilling his dream of retiring to East Texas. There, he found great joy in spending his days fishing and watching the sun rise and set from the front porch of his lake house, a place that brought him peace and happiness.

A man of remarkable determination and talent, Leland was largely self-taught in everything he pursued. His hands were rarely still. From his first job in an auto upholstery shop to trying his hand at taxidermy, and through his years working for the City of Irving, BlackMark Farms, and finally retiring from the City of Flower Mound, Leland took pride in honest work and doing every job to the best of his ability.

Leland lived by a simple but unwavering code of honor. His word was his bond, and a handshake was all the promise he believed a man should need. He was known for his integrity, his willingness to lend a helping hand, and his generous heart. A devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, he was deeply loved by many and always ready to help anyone in need.

Leland was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Marie Bryant, his siblings Dorothy Fae Brummett, William (Bill) Bryant and Shirley Seiber, his beloved wife, Linda Bryant; his daughter, Nena Bryant Kinney; his grandson, Aaron Kyle DeGrand; and his great-grandson, Zachary Aaron Krohn.

He is lovingly remembered by his son, Chuck Bryant and his wife, Michelle Maccaroni; his grandchildren, Shanda Kinney Krohn and her husband, Dylan, Maggie Doisher and her husband, Jason, and Jacob Bryant and his wife, Kay. He also leaves behind his cherished great-grandchildren, Autumn, Shelby, and Kylee Krohn; Jaxson and Presley Doisher; and Theodore and Nikolas Bryant, along with many other beloved family members and dear friends.

Leland's legacy is not measured by the things he owned, but by the lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely. His strength, kindness, work ethic, and unwavering character will continue to live on in all who knew and loved him.

Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort knowing he has been reunited with Linda, the love of his life, and that his memory will forever remain in their hearts.

A visitation will be held, Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home, from 10-11am.  The funeral service will begin immediately after the visitation.  The committal service will take place at Old Hall Cemetery following the funeral service.
