On Friday, March 13th, Kris Alan Muench passed away unexpectedly at Medical City Denton Hospital. Kris had valiantly fought Congestive Heart Failure for 33 years, ever since his first heart attack at just 32 years old. His strength and determination throughout those years were nothing short of remarkable.

Kris is survived by his wife of 18 years, Lisa Muench; his parents, Chuck and Ann Muench; his brother, Tim Muench, and Tim's wife, Chaney; and his beloved niece, Laney. He is also survived by his daughter, Staci Beare, and her husband, Aaron; his precious grandchildren, Averi Grace and Noah Michael; and his stepsons, Raynor Choate and his children—Ryder, Edie, and River—and Jackson Choate and his wife, Stephanie.

Kris was born in Kansas City, Missouri, but his upbringing was anything but ordinary. He grew up in England and the Philippines, where his father was stationed. From an early age, Kris showed extraordinary talent as a baseball pitcher. At just 12 years old, he made the news back in the States after pitching an incredible no-hitter with 18 strikeouts out of 18 batters—an achievement few ever accomplish at any age.

Eventually, the family moved to San Angelo, Texas, where Kris graduated from high school. After graduation, he moved to Fort Worth, where his love for the game continued—this time from the sidelines. As a devoted single father, Kris raised his daughter Staci with that same passion, family-first mindset, and deep love of softball. That love was later passed on to his granddaughter, Averi. Kris was her biggest cheerleader, coaching her from the sidelines and celebrating every success with pride and joy.

Professionally, Kris found success as a car salesman and later went on to manage several transmission shops. He also attended the University of North Texas, taking courses in education. Kris often described himself as a "Jack of all Trades, Master of None," but anyone who truly knew him knew that couldn't have been farther from the truth. Kris could fix anything. His wife often joked that women would be lined up around the block needing a handyman—because if something was broken, Kris could make it right.

Above all else, Kris will be remembered for his quick wit and his humor. He could make people laugh when they least expected it and brought light into every room he entered. His absence leaves a space that can never be filled, but his legacy—of love, perseverance, humor, and unwavering devotion to family—will live on through all of us.
